Date Night with Chip.... One Drink Too Many (Literally One)

You probably don't fully understand this blog title, but i'll get to that later.
First, I want to showcase my date night outfit... Because I'm proud of it.
I know I already did Fashion Friday, but those that know me realize I have no patience, therefore you are getting another dose of Fashion.
Let's Begin.
Necklace (Mom's jewelry box)--$Free to me, Bracelet (Kohl's)--$3, Shirt (Target)--$3.50, Belt (Thrifted)--$2, Jeans (J-Crew Outlet)--$17, Shoes (Rue 21)--$7

So there is the outfit---> No on to the real reason as to why we're here!

Chip, has been working nights for the last TWO weeks.  This does not help with our hangout time because I work days.
I have missed him like crazy!
Notice anything funny about these pictures?  Chip has a furry friend at his feet.  You can only imagine his uneasiness in this situation (picture one displays it nicely).  For those of you who don't know, Chip HATES felines.  This random cat has been hanging out at my parents house for about the last month and will not go away.

P.S. Notice how hott Chip looks.
Finally, tonight we got to hang out and he took me on a lovely date to a new restaurant in town called Sauk Trail (Fabulous Restaurant).  Ok so that takes care of the first part of the blog title.

Now on to the 2nd

I am a COMPLETE lightweight.
I don't really drink alcoholic beverages all that much
1. Because I get really talkative and obnoxious (according to my friends I talk at a decibel of about 11 on a scale of 1-10)
2. Because I, personally, don't like feeling like the S-word the next day
3. Because I don't want to be one of those people that everyone looks at and says "wow she really put on weight in college, must have been the alcohol"

BUT, I do, occasionally, like to have a drink.
Last night I went with a Sweet Tea Vodka and Lemonade combo.
I kid you not, it only took half the drink and I began talking a lot and double fisting my fork while eating.
(Hence the title, One drink too many)

I think this may put me to drinking shame. I'm embarrassed.
Have a wonderful weekend.
It's lovely here in the Hoosier state
(That was not sarcasm)

Fashion Friday-- Country Chic (or at least that's what I call it)

So here is, what I call, Country-Chic.  Here in Indiana we have some pretty weird weather so despite what the actual season is, the temperature refuses to agree.  It may be spring/summer, but Indiana weather has a mind of its own.
Jacket (Thrifted)-- $2, Sweater (Forever21)-- $6, Leggings (Forever21)-- $4, Boots (Thrifted)-- $10, Necklace (Pier1 Imports)-- Can't remember the cost but I know it was under five.

Hope you all like (i know my posing is awesome, Tyra Banks watch out).  Sorry I don't have anything interesting to Blog about, I'm substitute teaching (probably shouldn't be blogging while on the clock..ha) and need to keep these little devils in line.

Happy Friday!!

Yum Yum Bubblegum

Honestly, who doesn't love a good piece of bubblegum?  And who doesn't love to blow bubbles?
Bubble gum is probably one of my FAVORITE things ever.
Whoever came up with the idea is genius
It is literally a party for your chompers.

You see I used to play little league softball (back in the day) and I'm sure you've heard of Big League Chew (you know, the stuff they sell to kids that's supposed to be like dip), well I used to munch on this stuff and blow bubbles like it was nobody's business.

I don't play little league anymore, but I still chew bubble gum.  Sometimes I upgrade to the adult versions like Orbit or Wrigleys (but nothing is better than bubble gum).

Blowing bubbles from bubble gum is such a youthful thing.
Have you ever noticed how kids constantly ask for gum?  They love this stuff!  There is something so fascinating about it and I used to be one of these kids (still am).

This is a completely RANDOM post, I understand.  But I just had to share!

Bubble Gum= $1.00...... Blowing Bubbles= Priceless.

She's Country From Her Cowboy Boots to Her Down Home Roots

My first real country concert... A-MAZING.
Jason Aldean, Eric Church, and the JaneDeer Girls were incredible.

If you have never been to a country concert...
A.) You are missing out
B.) There a lot of drunk people who don't give a rip (which is awesome).
C.) Go. To. One.
Here are a few photos from the concert and some of the awesome things that happened
We were most definitely stuck in traffic.  About everywhere mapquest took us, there was a lovely detour.  I thought my camo hat was appropriate for the occasion.  Turns out I was right because 85% of the 25,000 people there had camo hats on. Boom.
Luckily for us, we just followed these country boys.  These guys were awesome because of the sticker on the back of their vehicle AND the fact that they were driving a Ford.  I would just like to say thank you to the "If It Flies, It Dies" boys.
Oh you know, just waiting for the one and only JASON ALDEAN to perform. I suggest listening to him. He rocks.

Favorite Memories of the Night
1. There was a girl who made a shirt in honor of Jason Aldean (what a fan) and some of the glitter on the shirt creeped its way down to her butt-crack.  How do I know this? Well, I saw her butt-crack (I spared you a picture).  Every country concert has a butt-crack or two just out there for the world to see.  Hers was just special because it was glittery.  Thanks for the laugh, glittery butt-crack girl.
2.  The drunk guy who decided to sneak up to me and booty bump me excessively.  Who doesn't love a good ol' drunken booty bump?
3. The drunk guy running around playing the air guitar.

Hope everyone has a fantastic week.
Give country music a try. It's awesome.

Many Faces of Mac

Chip thinks I make a lot of weird faces (and I do).
I do it to make him laugh. and it works.
My weird faces usually make their appearances in instances of serious conversation.
This may be immature. OR it may just be AWESOME.

If I were to guess, I'd say Chip thinks they are Awesome.

Here are just a few of the faces I make at chip.  They usually follow with some strange voice (Chip loves my "mom voice"-- it's a cross between Sarah Palin and Stewart's Mom from MADtv).

There ya have it peeps.
I don't suggest making these faces at strangers.
Actually I take that back.. I DO suggest it, because usually they will look at you weird in return.

Enjoy your Saturday!

She Got it From Her Mama (Happy Mother's Day!)

This is MY beautiful mother.  She is the most amazing woman I know.

I am so proud to call this woman my mom.
She is the most loving, caring, kind, considerate (and the list could go on) lady I know.

She goes above and beyond her call of duty.  Everything she does, she does for the benefit of our family.
I have never met a harder worker than my mom.  This lady is crazy people, she works 40 hours a week and then comes home and does even more work.
She is literally a superhero.

I have never known her to be selfish.  She is always doing things for others.

When I grow up I want to be just like my mom.

Mom, you are my best friend,
my hero.

I couldn't ask for a better mom.  I don't tell you enough how much I appreciate you.
I love you mom.

Here are some photos from the Mother's Day festivities.
Me, Mom, and Shaner-Baner
"K" and Shane (Shane gave my mom the nickname "K")
Grandma, Aunt Mindy (Grandma couldn't have asked for a better daughter-in-law), Mom, and Jane (Mindy's mom: One of the sweetest ladies ever!!! She is basically part of the fam)
Oh hey there CHIP. Whatcha doin?
Dad's probably trying to tell a funny joke. Oh Monte.
Who doesn't love a back massage train? Poor chip got the short stick.
The grandkids and Grandma minus 3.

And that concludes Mother's Day

Run Forest (Mac) Run!

Running is kinda my thing.
I'll make another list and tell ya why (it's a short list, I promise)

So like I said, running is my thing. I actually like LOVE to do it.  Especially when the sun is shining and the temperature is just right, you know, like not to hot--not to cold. Perfection....
Here. Is. Why.
1. It's a great work out.
2. It's just me and the open road.
3. It's a wonderful time to enjoy nature and the little things I miss while driving.
4. I do a lot of thinking when I run, thinking that is pure and deep.
5. It's a great stress relief.
6. It's a free workout.
7. No one can bother me when I run. I don't have to answer to anyone.
8. It's fun to run on roads I have never run on before.
9. I always feel better after I run.  And not just physically better, but mentally as well.
10. I get to wear my sweet green shoes and camo bandana.

Chip Vs. Cats

So I've already mentioned one of my fears (cotton balls), now I would like to tell you a little bit about one of Chip's fears....
Yep that's right... cats.

Chip is TERRIFIED of these cute little guys.
Every time Chip comes over to my parent's house, he makes lock up my sweet kitty Maxwell in one of the bedrooms.
Awww, and there he is the innocent little creature Chip is afraid of.

The other night Chip and I were sitting in his living room just having a lovely fiance to fiance conversation.  All of a sudden out of nowhere Chip yells out "OH MY... CAT!"
ME: What are you talking about?
CHIP:  There is a cat on the back porch!

People, it was pitch black outside and Chip practically had his back towards the window that looks out to the porch.  HOW he saw this cat I have no idea!  He then proceeded to yell at the cat to leave through the closed window.
ME:  HAHAHA how in the world did you see that?
CHIP: I saw its beady little eyes and white face staring at me through the window!

Again, I have absolutely no idea how he saw this thing.... must be a sixth sense.

Adventures in Substitute Teaching

Being a college kid money is hard to come by, so as a part time job I substitute teach on Friday's
It's a great way to make some quick cash, but let me tell you these kids can say/do some outrageous things.
I would just like to share some of my experiences in substitute teaching with YOU.
Some funny... some just plain wierd.

And the story goes....
One of my first experiences substitute teaching took place during a high school English class.
The REAL English teacher left directions for me to take the students down to the computer lab to work on a paper.
I did just that.
While we were in the computer lab the students quietly worked on their papers while I sat behind them at a desk and caught up on some homework.
While I was sitting there doing my thing.  A student who looked kinda like this.... but with glasses,
(creepy, i know), passed me a note with his number which said "we should hang out sometime!"
I immediately threw the note away, because I am pretty sure you can get arrested for that or something!
Unfortunately the story doesn't end here.
He later CORNERED me in the classroom, and said, "So are you gonna call me sometime?"
I WAS MORTIFIED (and laughing on the inside at the same time) because
A.) I cannot believe he had the you know what to pass me a note and then proceed to ask me if I was going to call him
AND
B.) I literally did not know what to say to him (they do not provide substitute teacher training for situations like this).  You would think I would say "No, this is inappropriate and you should not be asking teachers/substitute teachers to call and hang out with you," but I didn't.  All I said was "Uhhhh No."

I mean honestly, what do you say to a kid who looks like screech and who will probably never get a date in his life.  A part of me felt bad and a part of was just plain creeped out.

Things I Have Heard While Subbing

* "Sooo, is there a Mr. Cook?"
* "You are so beautiful"
* "Can I have your number?"
* Student:  "Are you a new student?"
Me:  "No, I'm the sub"
Student: "Really?"
Me: "Yep."
Student:  "You look like your in high school."
(This scenario happens quite frequently)
* Me: "Guys shut up. You're being too loud!"
Elementary Students: "oooo we don't say that word."
(Advice: Don't say words like shut up, crap, butt, etc. to elementary students.  They will call you out.)
* "Miss Cook, did you know an anaconda could bite your head off?"

So these are just a few of the MANY things that I have experienced while substitute teaching.

When a Trip to Starbucks Becomes Inspriational (and it's not because of their awesome skinny vanilla lattes)

Last night Chip and I decided to have a little Starbucks date.
The night started out with a few pictures (I think this was awkward for Chip)

NOTE:  The reason why there are so many photos of me is because Chip does not know how to work my camera, which is also the reason they are all slightly blurry.

Now for the real reason as to why we're here.

Our night started out pretty simple.  We decided to go to Starbucks for a cup of (REALLY TASTY) joe and research places to honeymoon (which we still have not figured out).  We sat there for a little while minding our own business when Chip decided to mind someone else's business.....
There was a man sitting across from us with a stack of books and Chip decided to ask him about the books he was reading.  They were Christian books that Chip had heard of and wanted to know if they were any good.
The man responded that they were great books and suggested reading them.  He then went on to tell us a little bit about himself...
Cliff, the man's name, revealed to us that he was a paster for 16 years.
He professed his love for the Lord, which was so amazing to hear from a random stranger.
He then went on to tell us that he also worked as a counselor for women in need.
My eyes lit up and swelled with tears all at the same time because working with and counseling women is something I have a passion for, to do in the future.

It was just so amazing to see this man, who loves the Lord with all his heart, tell us that he counsels women.  I was so inspired by his words and they reminded me why God has led me to serve women.  When Cliff left Starbucks I broke down and just cried and prayed, thanking God for sending this stranger to profess his love for the Lord to us.

Chip, being the sweet man he is grabbed me a handful of Starbucks napkins to wipe the tears away.

It's amazing the inspiration you can find if you decide to mind someone else's business.

Let's Play a Little Game

This is a little game I like to call "What's the Word?"
I will post two pictures and you will guess what the word is based on those two pictures.
Below the pictures I will give you a clue as to what the word might be.
You will then post a comment telling me what you think the word is.
The only prize for guessing correctly is the satisfaction that you got it right.
So this is what I have when I drink too much coffee and water.  It results in me having to pee about every half hour (like last night when I woke up about 10 times to use the little girls room).  Chip has this problem everyday, coffee or not.
SOOOO... What's the word?

Sorry the second picture is slightly gross (but not as gross as cotton balls... excuse me Meijer, I meant cotton PUFFS).

EWWWWW... THESE THINGS FREAK ME OUT!

SO remember the list of things you should know about me?
Remember #14... The one about COTTON BALLS?
Well, let me tell you why cotton balls freak me out, or should I say cotton puffs, as Meijer has so nicely named them (as if calling them "puffs" eases my mind.. pssh)
These little devils are so gross!  The mere thought of them gives me the chills.  One time someone actually threatened me with cotton balls (that is not even funny).  If cotton balls freak you out (which is probably not many of you) you can understand my terrified feeling as I was being threatened.  WHO in the world would come up with something so gross as cotton balls.  Tissue serves the same purpose but is much less gross.  It's hard to explain the way they make me feel, but think of something that grosses you out or gives you the chills and you will know what I mean.

FYI, I braved taking a picture of these little boogers in order to explain my fear of them.  So I guess in a way I just faced a fear.  I hope this inspires YOU to face a fear (although yours is probably more legit then mine).  Goodnight to you all.

Spring Cleaning!

So MY version of spring cleaning really has nothing to do with cleaning at all (remember I am unorganized)... MY version of spring cleaning has to do with cleaning up my day to day.  Sooo kinda like a New Years resolution.  Who says resolutions are only for the new year? So here we go (i like to make lists so i'll stick with that)

1.  Take more walks and go for more runs
2.  Take lots and lots of pictures
3.  Plant some flowers (love me some gerber daisies)
4.  Drink more water (and less coffee... even though its SO good)
5.  Start recycling
6.  Eat more fruits and veggies
7.  Embrace nature
8.  Do something good for humanity
9.  Read the Bible every day (can I get an amen!)
10.  Make more time for friends
11.  Stop stressing over little things (maybe take up some yoga)
12.  Dominate wedding plans
13.  Restore something (My mom has this old stool that I want to sand down and repaint)
14.  Save money (Chip will like this one)
15.  Tell the people in my life, everyday, that I love them (starting now-->  I love you all, you know who you are!)

So how'd ya get the name Chip?

And this is how the story goes....
MAC:  So how'd ya get the name Chip?
CHIP:  Dave Sharp, a buddy of mine in college gave it to me.
MAC:  But how did he come up with "Chip"
CHIP:  I don't know, I guess he thought I looked like a chipmunk or something.
MAC: HAHAHAHA

Hence the name chip.

Hi it's ME>>>Miss Merry Mac Mac Mac

Hey Everyone! This is me, Mac.  I am so excited to put up my first post! I guess I should probably tell you a little bit about myself so you know what you're getting yourself into!  I'm 21 so to make this kinda fun (or kinda stupid--however you want to look at it) i'll tell you 21 things about myself...in list form...in no particular order.
1. I am a Women and Gender Studies student at IUSB.... and I LOVE IT!

Whelp, now you know a little bit about me!  Probably more than you want to know. Goodnight, or should I say good morning
